TEMPORARY NETWORK ELECTRICAL PROTECTION GRADING

During the hook-up and commissioning of a new bridge linked platform one of the critical path items was the safe and reliable operation of a temporary power network.  This temporary network included a feed in to the existing platform.

During the engineering phase of the temporary power network JMB Technical identified a protection setting clash, whereby an upstream ACB would have tripped prior to a downstream ACB - resulting in a larger portion of the electrical network than required being incorrectly isolated during a potential fault trip.

In order to deliver value for our clients, JMB Technical can complete tasks like this in-house, often without the need for a full power system study.

Sometimes a power system study is needed, but sometimes it is vital to have review and appraisal of protection settings on site - or - offshore when time is tight.  JMB Technical can deliver.
